Rien n’est vivant qui ne s’éprouve. On la trouve cette inconnue aux choses, là où le vivant ne connaît langue ni langage. Je recouvre ce que j’ai trouvé.Je le regarde.Je prends du temps pour le regarder.Je le cache, je le mets derrière pour revenir le chercher plus tard.Quand ça sera le bon moment. La traversée doit continuer. Je saurai quand c’est le bon moment.Pour le moment, je ne le sais pas. C’est lointain. Une découverte émergera. Je lacère son écorce.Encore et encore. Cette chose qui était autre, devient encore autre.Pas autre chose, mais une chose. L’entièreté commence à émerger.Mais il est encore trop tôt pour le dire.Je ne suis qu’à l’aube de la forêt. Je vais devoir tomber, plusieurs fois.J’en souffre, et c’est comme ça que je sais. Que je suis sur le bon chemin. La forêt se densifie.Je dois continuer à chercher, longtemps. Je trébuche. Une lueur à travers les troncs de la forêt m’éblouit.Lumière jaune.Elle me réchauffe. Je fatigue, mais je continue, longtemps. Plus profond, je m’enfonce.La forêt est dense.Mon pas est lent. Mon geste s’intensifie. Il est vif. La lumière reparaît. Une charge physique s’imprime à l’orée.Je traverse. Et sur le chemin j’ai mué. Dans ces forêts, dans ces ciels, des bouts de moi. La forêt est épaisse.Lentement, j’avance. Je vibre et j’imprime. Cette lumière que j’ai peinte, passe à travers les arbres. Elle s’échappe dans la brume.Elle est douce. Parfois, elle m’embrasse et me réchauffe. Une nature colorée de sensations, teintée de vibrations. Les arbres s’agitent dans le geste, mouvants. Cet imperceptible beauté immanente à la fusion opérée avec la nature. Ces paysages abstraits, complexes, intenses exigent de se laisser toucher. Dedans. C’est du plaisir, et du déplaisir.Il y a de la jouissance à prendre dans ce déplaisir. Le bon endroit.Un endroit que l’on n’a pas encore découvert. Un endroit qui nous fait peur autant qu’il nous attire. Unique piece - 2026 The Fluids. My monochrome black paintings are not about absence.They are about presence — dense, opaque, unresolved. This body of work marks a turning point in my practice: the entry into total abstraction, where black pigment becomes a field of experience rather than a color. The surfaces evoke something raw, almost organic — like bark, like earth — but they are never descriptive. They hold. Black contains everything.It carries memory, tension, and what remains unspoken. Light is there, but not where one expects it.It appears in fragments, in subtle shifts, at the edge of perception. These works do not offer clarity.They resist interpretation. They ask for presence. Standing in front of them can feel unstable, sometimes uncomfortable — as if something long held beneath the surface begins to move. The painting does not reveal.It activates. It opens a space where the viewer is no longer outside the work, but implicated in it. What emerges is not an image, but a state. A threshold. A zone where perception hesitates, where the boundaries between inner and outer begin to dissolve. These paintings do not seek to be understood.They operate elsewhere — in the silent tension between what is seen and what is felt. They unfold through layers — deposits of pigment, gestures, withdrawals — where something slowly takes form without ever fully resolving. These surfaces hold a tension between appearance and disappearance.Between what emerges and what withdraws. Blue becomes a space of passage. A place where perception shifts, where the visible and the invisible begin to overlap. Each layer carries traces — of memory, of movement, of something that has passed through the body before reaching the surface. Nothing is fixed.Everything remains in suspension. These works explore states that cannot be fully grasped: moments where thought hesitates, where an emotion exists before it can be named. They operate in that interval. A threshold between presence and absence, connection and separation. The painting does not describe.It accumulates. It builds a field where fragments of experience — memory, sensation, perception — begin to coexist. The blues absorb as much as they reveal. They invite a slower form of attention. To stand before them is to enter a space where time dilates, where the image resists immediate understanding. Something appears, then recedes. Something remains, without ever fully stabilizing. These paintings are not answers.They are conditions. Spaces where the viewer can encounter their own interior movements. A place where the boundaries of the self become less certain. These paper sculptures emerge from a direct engagement with matter. Paper becomes unstable — softened by paint, brought to a state where it can be pressed, folded, shaped.It yields, resists, collapses, holds. The body is fully involved. The form is not designed.It is negotiated. There is a moment where the material remains open — still in motion, still undecided. Then it fixes. The surface dries.The form stabilizes. Something stops. Like a movement suddenly held in place. I return to the sculpture through pigment — throwing, depositing, guiding the blue across its surface. The color settles into the folds, reveals reliefs, creates depths. Light begins to circulate. These works exist in a tension between fragility and structure. Between what has been shaped and what still seems on the verge of collapsing. They carry traces of their own making. Pressures, hesitations, resistances. Nothing is entirely resolved. Each sculpture holds a state. A point where something has taken form, but not without fracture. The surface appears controlled, yet something escapes. A slight imbalance.A disruption. A memory of the gesture that cannot be fully contained. These pieces do not represent. They retain. They hold fragments — of movement, of contact, of a physical and inner negotiation with matter. They are not objects. They are situations. Each line is both controlled and instinctive.It accumulates, layer after layer, until the surface reaches a point of density where it begins to vibrate. Nothing moves.Yet everything is in motion. The drawings hold that tension. They create a visual instability — a sensation where the eye cannot fully settle, where perception begins to shift. What appears static becomes active. My practice forms an ecosystem of thought and creation where writing, painting, sensory experience and the observation of life continuously interact. The work begins long before the studio. For extended periods, forms develop elsewhere: through observation, lived experience, perceptual saturation and the silent accumulation of inner movements that slowly organize themselves within the mind and body. The studio becomes the place where these tensions are allowed to surface and acquire a material presence. I give them the right to exist. I allow images to appear. Drawing and painting emerge from the same movement: tracing, layering, erasing, returning, repeating, excavating the surface until something begins to reveal itself. Repetition functions as a form of regulation — a way of structuring sensory intensity, organizing perceptual overflow and translating cognitive density into visual form. Matter is my first language. Matter is memory deposited onto the surface. Pigments, blacks, blues, charcoal dust and successive layers generate immersive structures where light, instability and saturation coexist. Obsessive gestures, accumulations, fragmentations and visual overstimulation create fields of tension in which perception itself becomes active material. The work seeks to render perceptible the invisible circulations that move through nervous systems, memory and psychic space. A mythological inner traversal of the living. I am drawn toward thresholds of consciousness — those fragile moments when thought hesitates, when emotion forms before language, when perception oscillates between emergence and dissolution. Drawing and painting become surfaces through which these unstable movements can inscribe themselves and become shareable experiences. This research exists in dialogue with my interest in psychoanalysis, psychology, neuroscience and contemporary studies of perception and the brain. These fields nourish the work through questions surrounding image, consciousness and transformation: how does an image alter an inner state? How can visual vibration reshape perception, emotion or psychic presence within the viewer? The artwork becomes a place of passage — a sensory and psychological space where fragments of memory, affect and perception settle into matter. The viewer is invited to move through these immersive environments and encounter their own zones of resonance. This research currently unfolds through a body of work titled The Forest. Here the forest appears simultaneously as a physical, mental and perceptual territory: a dense living structure crossed by tensions, disorientation, sensory intensity and transformation. Diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, Agathe Toman describes her relationship to the world through a singular cognitive and sensory perception, marked by hypersensitivity, heightened sensory processing and an intense relationship to perception and internal structures. This singular way of experiencing reality profoundly informs her artistic language and her relationship to creation, which functions as a space of self-regulation and perceptual organization. Repetition, density, fragmentation, silence and perceptual instability occupy a central place within her work, alongside obsessive gestures, accumulative processes and deeply immersive visual structures that reflect both the intensity and the precision of her inner experience. After studying at the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, she worked for several years as a designer within French haute couture houses in Paris before choosing to devote herself fully to her own artistic practice. Based in Seignosse, les Landes, southwest France. Her work explores the inner human experience as a living traversal — at the intersection of poetry, philosophy, psychoanalysis and contemporary research on perception, neuroscience and the psyche. Painting, notebooks, photography and writing form a unified field of artistic investigation through which she examines memory, sensory experience, internal structures and the invisible tensions that shape human existence.
